1. Indefinite(अनिच्छित) article [ A, An]

USE: It generally does not points out any particular person, place or thing, which we do not already know about.( किसी विशेष वस्तु, व्यक्ति या स्थान के साथ होता है. जिसके बारे में हम पहले से नहीं जानते हो.)
A और An indefinite यानी अनिच्छित आर्टिकल है. इन दोनों को use(प्रयोग) तभी किया जाता है. जब हम किसी विशेष वस्तुओ, ठिकानो या फिर किसी विशेष व्यक्ति के बारे में हमें पहले से जानकारी नहीं होती है.

जब अगले शब्द(next word) की शुरुवात हिंदी वर्णमाला के स्वर के ध्वनि(vowel sound) से हो तब अॅॅन का इस्तेमाल किया जाता है.

अ, आ, इ, ई, उ, ऊ, ए, ऐ, ओ, औ, अं, अः
“A”
जब अगले शब्द(next word) की शुरुवात हिंदी वर्णमाला के व्यंजन के ध्वनि(consonant sound) से हो तब अ का इस्तेमाल किया जाता है.
“Consonant sound व्यंजन की ध्वनि”
ऊपर जो स्वर दिए है. उन्हें छोड़कर बाकी सारे व्यंजन है. जैसे: क, ख, ग, इत्यादि.

  • An apple – अ‌ॅन एप्पल
  • A boy – अ बॉय
  • A cat – अ कैट
  • An elephant – अ‌ॅन एलीफैंट
  • A Pen – अ पेन
  • A year – अ यिअर
  • An ear – अ‌ॅन इयर
  • An MLA – अ‌ॅन एम. एल. ऐ
  • A union – अ यूनियन
  • An orange – अ‌ॅन ऑरेंज
  • An umbrella – अ‌ॅन अम्ब्रेला
  • A European – अ यूरोपियन
  • An honest – अ‌ॅन ऑनेस्ट
  • An hour – अ‌ॅन ऑवर
  • A horse – अ हॉर्

2. Definite(निच्छित) article [The]

USE: It generally points out a particular person, place or thing, which we already know about.( किसी विशेष वस्तु, व्यक्ति या स्थान के साथ होता है. जिसके बारे में हम पहले से हीं जानते हो.)

Example of the definite article

1. With unique people/object – यूनिक लोगो/वस्तुओ के साथ, जो केवल एक है.
For example –
  • The sun
  • The earth
  • The moon
  • The president
  • The CEO
  • The world
  • The sky
2. With adjective referring to a whole group of people – जो विशेषण पूरे एक ग्रुप या जाती का बोध करते है.
Examples –
  • The old
  • The young
  • The rich
  • The poor
3. With famous buildings, museums and monuments – प्रसिद्ध भवन, संग्रलाये और स्मारकों के साथ
Example –
  • The Taj Mahal
  • The Qutub Minar
  • The Eiffel tower
4. With superlative degrees of an adjective – विशेषण के साथ
Example –
  • The highest
  • The most
  • The lowest
  • The youngest
5. With ordinal number – क्रमवाचक संख्यावो के साथ
Example –
  • The last chapter
  • The first time
  • The second occasion
6. With countries, the names of which include kingdom, states or republican – ऐसे देश के नाम के साथ जिनमे kingdom, states or republican यह नाम आता हो.
Examples –
  • The united states
  • The united kingdom
  • The republican of Ireland
7. With countries that have the plural name
Examples –
  • The Nederlands
  • The Philippines
8. With river, canals, and oceans – नदी, नहर और सागरों के नाम के साथ
Examples –
  • The Gangas
  • The Nile
  • The Antarctic
  • The Pacific
9. With the names of families – फैमिली के साथ
Examples –
  • The Ranas
  • The Khans
  • The Tatas
10. Only से पहले The का प्रयोग तभी किया जाता है. जब sentence में only का इस्तेमाल “एकलौता” ऐसे कहने के लिए किया गया हो.
Examples –
  • The only sun
  • The only friend
  • The only batsmen
11. “Whole” शब्द के पहले और “All” इस शब्द के बाद भी the इस article का use किया जाता है.
Examples –
  • All the boys are here.
  • I wish, to visit the whole world.

The इस article का use कहा नहीं होता.

  1. किसी भी disease के नाम से पहले.
  2. भाषा के नाम से पहले.
  3. प्रॉपर नाउन से पहले the का इस्तेमाल नहीं होता.
  4. Breakfast, launch और dinner इनके पहले भी द का यूज़ नहीं होता.
  5. Hospital, God और school के पहले.
